What I Do
I’ve been training dogs for a long time.
On going learning is a passion of mine. How dogs learn. How best to teach them. New ways. Time honored methods.
But what you want to know is what I do. How can I help you?
Here are a few ways:
Companion Dogs (dogs who live with you in your house):
First step is a Consultation
During your consultation, we will talk about your issues.
What did you need your dog to do or not do? We will talk about history. What he’s been doing, how long. Etc.
Is your dog:
eliminating indiscriminately
jumping on people
barking at the doorbell
running away
tearing around the house like a demon
counter surfing
eating your house
nipping or growling
pulling on the leash
not listening
or? What are your issues?
I will create a plan and get you started. There is always some place to start.
Most issues take three to six sessions. Some more. Some less. That depends on many factors. But we start with the consultation.

“Helper Dog Training”
Do you have a family member with physical or emotional challenges?
Have you thought your dog might be an excellent ‘helper’ dog? Most family/companion dogs can’t be full access service dogs. But most of them can be taught to ‘help’. They can pick things up and bring them to you. Open and close drawers and doors. Be a stable physical support or a calming presence for emotional needs. Alert you or another family member when needed. What are you needing? Together we can discuss your needs, assess your dog, and decide the best course of action.

Board and Train
Some issues or problems can be very time intensive and sometimes you don’t have the time or patience or expertise to work on it. Sometimes dogs need a jump start. Board and train is just that. Dog comes to my house and lives with me, my dogs, and my family, and is trained throughout the day and evening. Depending on his issues, he could run errands with me, going out and about, or simply learns how to behave at home. Because of the time commitment, (I’m basically with the dog, 24/7 while he’s here) this is not inexpensive, but sometimes its just what you need. Because of the size of the dogs in my house, this is limited to dogs under 20 pounds.
Or?
Is your need or issue not covered here? Give me a call or drop me an email and I’ll be happy to discuss it with you!
I’m looking forward to working with you and your dog soon!
