A chain in the backyard
I realize all dogs can’t live in the house.
There are valid reasons.
Some dogs are working dogs.

They must stay outside where their job is. They work out in the barn or barn yard. They herd cattle. They keep their families safe. They enjoy their work. Dogs love to have a job.
There are dogs who live in kennels – hunting dogs, for example.
But I can not for the life of me figure why people buy a dog to leave on a chain in their backyard all their lives.
The dogs are unhappy and I hope something about the dogs – the boredom barking or digging or just the lonely look – makes the people somewhat miserable also.
Yes, that is the kind of mean I am.
There is a rash of pitbull poisonings going on in a town not far from here. Every one of them were chained up in the backyard. Probably barking. Probably lunging at passers-by. And someone has decided to rid the town of these ‘problems’.
With poison.
One of the owners was on the news today, crying about her lost dog. “It’s been going on for a year now,” she wailed, “Whatever shall we do?”
Suggestion number one. Take off the chain and bring them in the house. I know a trainer who can help.
